I am looking for sponsors for some upcoming fitness and bikini competitions.  If you would be interested in sponsoring me for a contest, please visit my sponsor page for more information.

One of my passions and hobbies is fitness.  I read everything I can regarding nutrition, weight training, alternative medicine, health, and exercise.  If you share my passion... I hope you'll enjoy the "Getting Fit" section of my site.  I'm not a doctor or nutritionist so any ideas expressed on these pages are only my opinions, and not meant to be considered medical advice.  If you decide to embark on a new way of eating or a new fitness routine, it's always recommended that you consult your physician.

I receive lots of emails asking about fitness, nutrition, modeling, etc.  I also have a yahoo club where you are welcome to post comments and/or questions.  Even if you don't have any comments or questions, you are invited to join the club (it's free).  Just click here.

A new Frequently Asked Questions page has been added to the site.  I try to answer all my emails personally (although it sometimes takes awhile to get through them all) and I've posted some of your questions along with my responses.  Check out the new FAQ page here.

An extremely important part of health includes drinking plenty of water.  I know you've heard this over and over again, but most people have no idea how vital it is to drink enough water.  You've probably heard that you should drink 8 glasses of water each day.  Of course, the water needs of a 200 lb man may be different than a 105 lb woman.  Here's a good guideline to follow.  Take your body weight...  divide it by 2...  and that's how many ounces of water you should consume each day.  For example, if you weigh 120 lbs, you should be consuming 60 oz of water each day.  (120 lbs. / 2  = 60 oz.)

For more information on the importance of adequate water intake, read my published article.

What else is highly important, but often overlooked for maintaining optimal health?

 STRETCHING!

Flexibility training (or stretching) is important for preventing  injury, promoting relaxation, improving performance and posture, and reducing stress.  Before, during and after exercise, stretching helps increase your range of motion, and  keeps your body feeling loose and agile.

I get lots of email asking about what kind of work out routine I follow.  I switch up my training routine frequently, but here's the latest version.  I'll have more work-out information coming soon, as well as a health assessment, nutritional information, and more.  If you have any requests for the kind of information you'd like to see on the "Get Fit with Me" page, just email me and let me know.
